Atrato Glass Frog - egg clutch, Santa Cecilia, Colombia
A beautiful species of glass frog. This is likely the male, as we found it defending a clutch of eggs on the underside of a large leaf. The eggs seem far developed. When the tadpoles hatch, they fall in the stream below and enter the game of chance that we call life.

"Hyalinobatrachium aureoguttatum" is a species of frog in the family Centrolenidae. It is found in northern Ecuador, Pacific lowlands and western slopes of the Cordillera Occidental in Colombia, and eastern Panama. It occurs from near sea level to 1,560 m asl.
