Palawan Blue

Earlier this year, when on a field trip with a local friend to Palawan Island, he wanted to show me this Tarantula but we couldn't find it. Instead, we found another species which is still undescribed and fondly called Palawan Blond!

Last week, when out on a field trip at another location, I spotted a few of this Tarantulas to my friend's surprise and we managed to get it verified as Palawan Blue, which was newly described in 2016. This species is endemic to the island.

Phlogiellus johnreylazoi is a species of Tarantula from Family Theraphosidae.
