  1. And that's 100! Posted 2 years ago
    1. Woohoo!. Black-tailed is a good one. I have one from Palmari, but your picture is much better. Posted 2 years ago
      1. Fantastic shared accomplishment and achievement! Thank you both for pushing this number. I shall now commence with a full antbird homepage takeover. Antbirds only.

Anticipating this achievement, I've had time to consider a next target which I've named "War of the Wings": there should be more birds on JD than moths/butterflies. We can't let these silly light huggers win.

        1. I had a few more queued up, but I wanted Thibaud to get #100.

We're going to be hard-pressed to get more birds than moths/butterflies, though. We only have 10,500 species of birds to work with!

          1. That's easily solved, we'll just split species :)

Kidding aside, my target wasn't very serious. It cannot be achieved in the long run, as you say. 4,500 may be a nice achievable target, and a bit longer term I'm hoping for 5,000. I do believe though that there's a diminishing return. It will get ever harder to add new ones, as they obviously were (very) uncommon or hard to reach.

            1. Yes, let me go through and post all of my subspecies! Ha!

          2. Mike, you're a gentleman and a scholar!
As for (sub)species, the new taxonomy update has a added quite a few things for Peru. I'll see what I can scrounge up!

            1. I'll just post 20 versions of Dark-eyed Juncos!

Neotropical Birding has an upcoming article on Amazon subspecies. That should an interesting piece.

      2. Yes it took us quite a while to bring him out, but he eventually showed quite well! Posted 2 years ago
