      1. Thanks! I randomly learned this on the wiki page for the species. But it's not easy info to find for most families. For example, for hummingbirds, they only give a type genus, Trochilus, but then I guess the type species for that genus, the Red-billed streamertail, would by extension be the type for the whole family? "Riodina lysippus" is a species of Neotropical metalmark butterfly. It is the type species of its genus and of the entire family Riodinidae. It is found throughout northern parts of South America and the Caribbean.
