  3. How did you manage the indeed marvelous bokey backdrop? What is it that creates this lovely unfocus?

  4. There is nothing much secret over there, its just the visibility of the subject and the closest distance that i maintained to keep focus on the bird. There was bit light issue, dull light on the subject, since it was in shadow hence i increased the ISO from 400 to 800. The background was coconut tree leaves which got blurred when the subject was perfectly in focus. But believe me, I had taken 20-30 more shots out of which few were very perfect and this is one among them. Thanks for the compliments Ludo. Posted 11 years ago, modified 11 years ago

The Ashy Drongo is a species of bird in the drongo family Dicruridae. It is found widely distributed across South and Southeast Asia with several populations that vary in the shade of grey, migration patterns and in the size or presence of a white patch around the eye.
