Closeup of Lioness feeding on warthog head whilst drinking in Central Serengeti
It's a pretty raw and graphic picture, i admit, but such is wildlife. This lioness was busy cooling down, feeding, and protecting her food all at the same time. She had a crowd of many vultures, two other lionesses and us. Soon after, word got around and many jeeps queued in after us. We had front seats though, as we actually made the spotting.

The lion is one of the five big cats in the genus "Panthera" and a member of the family Felidae. The commonly used term African lion collectively denotes the several subspecies found in Africa. With some males exceeding 250 kg in weight, it is the second-largest living cat after the tiger.
