Lioness feeding, drinking and protecting food in Central Serengeti
As it was too hot to really eat the Warthog head, this lioness took it to the river. To drink, cool down, keep feeding, but also to keep it away from a very nearby vulture and two of her sister lionesses, who are pushing for a piece of the pie.

The lion is one of the five big cats in the genus "Panthera" and a member of the family Felidae. The commonly used term African lion collectively denotes the several subspecies found in Africa. With some males exceeding 250 kg in weight, it is the second-largest living cat after the tiger.
