Red-spotted spittle bug

These are one of those insects that leave 'cuckoo spit', the little frothy mounds on plants.
Alas, wiki will not allow this or its scientific name Locris arithmetica

I love such oddities of nature. Please don't stop capturing insects. Note that manual species creation is temporarily impossible due to the species system being in transition. In a few weeks we'll get back to this one. Posted 11 years ago
