Eastern Brown Snake I wish the leaf hadn't gotten in the way and I feel this isn't one of my best shots. But you can clearly see a tick on his head. He promptly struck at us and then bolted away upon seeing us. This was my first Eastern Brown since starting herping! The eastern brown snake, often referred to as the common brown snake, is a species of genus Pseudonaja. This snake is considered the world's second most venomous land snake based on its LD50 value in mice. It is native to Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.
