    1. Does it have gills, pores or spines? What tree does it grow on?
      It could be Polyporus alveolaris, but you need both sides of a fungus to ID.

      1. I have another picture that shows the underside, but it is not clear enough by my own standards to post it on here. The underside is a lighter yellow or tan color with pores. I believe you are correct with this ID! You never cease to amaze, WildFlower! Posted 11 years ago

"Neofavolus alveolaris" is a species of polypore fungus in the family Polyporaceae. It is widely distributed in the temperate areas of the Northern Hemisphere.
