Ichneumon Dyspetes luteomarginatus This is a medium-sized Ichneumon with females measuring somewhere between 7mm and 10mm and the males very slightly larger, perhaps reaching 11mm.

Both sexes look very similar particularly because the female has a ovispositor that's barely noticeable. However, the female anntennae tend to be lighter coloured than the dark brown/black of the male, usually showing as either a yellowish or reddish brown, particularly at the tips.
The main host species for this wasp appear to be the larvae of Tenthredo and Tenthredopsis sawfly species, upon which the females will lay their eggs, Dyspetes luteomarginatus,Fall,Geotagged,United Kingdom Click/tap to enlarge PromotedSpecies introCountry intro
