Australian rice flower Pimelea ferruginea is an Australian native, found in coastal areas in the south-west of the country, in sandy and rocky soils. <br />

This is a low, densely growing shrub which rarely exceeds 1 m in height by 1 to 2 m in width. The small flowers seen here, occur in clusters at the ends of the branches. In this image, the flowers within the centre of the cluster have still to open. The cluster is 30 mm diameter, each individual flower is tiny. <br />

"Pimelea ferruginea" is a small shrub native to southwest Western Australia. It was described by Labillardiere in 1805.
