  3. Lovely photo but I'm pretty certain that's not a bunting, rather a female bishop or whydah. I'm not familiar enough with African birds to ID it, but with your permission I can share the photo with experts who can. Posted 2 years ago

      My bad and thanks a lot for your interest and enlightenment. It seems indeed, it is rather a female Euplectes franciscanus - Northern Red Bishop than Emberiza caesia.

      I have amended my post but yes, please feel free to ask for some expertise with this matter.

The northern red bishop or orange bishop is a weaver belonging to the family Ploceidae. It was formerly regarded as a subspecies of the southern red bishop of the southern half of Africa. The two are now usually classified as separate species.
