  1. Could it be Placonotus testaceus (F., 1787), Laemophloeidae (1.5–2.5 mm)
Or: Cryptolestes duplicatus (Waltl, 1839), Laemophloeidae (1.5–2.1 mm) ?

    1. Thanks for the suggestions! I think both of those genera are possible, but both of the species you mentioned have European distributions. So far, the specific species I'm considering are: Placonotus zimmermanni, Placonotus modestus, and Cryptolestes punctatus Posted 2 years ago
      1. My pleasure Christine! Probably a final decision would require the specimen, a microscope and much more knowledge than have, hehe. Though I found it. https://www.kerbtier.de/cgi-bin/enFSearch.cgi?Fam=Laemophloeidae
Thank you so much for your ongoing support.

        1. Yes, an expert might be able to ID the beetle without microscopy, but getting a species-level ID would be difficult with this photo. Posted 2 years ago
        2. Update: An expert IDed it as Placonotus zimmermanni :) Posted 2 years ago
          1. Thanks for the update Christine! Alright, finally you succeeded! Compliments for your concentration on the issue!
