Larger Spotty-eyed Dronefly (Eristalinus aeneus)
Anyone familiar with hoverflies might instantly recognise the tell-tell shape of the ubiquitous common Dronefly (Eristalis tenax)?
This species shares a similar build, but is altogether more glamorous.
It even gets to live by the sea.
