Another bird just passing through. I have been told the markings of this sparrow indicate it has come form somewhere in the Aleutian Islands. Hard for me to imagine! It was feeding on the dried grass seeds.

      Definitely a cute little fellow! Quite oblivious to me as it went around plucking the seeds from the dried grass. Posted 2 years ago

The Savannah sparrow

The Savannah sparrow is a small American sparrow. It is the only widely accepted member of the genus ''Passerculus''. The common name comes from Savannah, Georgia, where one of the first specimens of this bird was collected.
