  1. I could not figure out what I was looking at. So I googled the name and saw a beautiful tree, unusual to me as it did not have any leaves, but scattered about on the branches, seemingly at random, were red flowers.

    I just saw another photo and I realise the photo above is the seed capsules that form after the flowers have bloomed.

    What an unusual tree.

''Erythrina abyssinica'' is a tree species of the genus ''Erythrina'' belonging to the plant family of the Fabaceae described by Augustin Pyramus de Candolle in 1825. This leguminous tree species is native to East Africa, Eastern DRC and southern Africa.
