      At these close distances (~20cm in this case) the dof is very limited, the diaphragm doesn't change that much anymore.
      In this case I wanted the background to fade away. I tried it at f/2.8 and f/8. Comparing both, the sharp area isn't that much deeper, but the background is way blurrier at f/2.8. I liked the f/8 blur more so choose that one for posting on jungledragon.       Posted 11 years ago

The Jewelled Amanita

"Amanita gemmata", commonly known as the gemmed Amanita, jeweled deathcap or the jonquil Amanita, is an agaric mushroom of the family Amanitaceae and genus "Amanita". The fruit body has a cap that is a dull to golden shade of yellow, and typically 2.5–12 cm in diameter.
