  1. Looks like a good guess to me: yellow legs, black frons, abdominal bands with no margin. The eyes look bare, I think? I absolutely can't see the microtrichia on the 2nd basal cell, but I find that feature SO hard to see. Good idea to seek a confirmation on BG. Posted 3 years ago

"Syrphus ribesii" is a very common European species of hoverfly. Its larvae feed on aphids. In common with many other species of hoverfly, males have the eyes meeting on the top of the head, whilst females have their eyes widely separated.
