  1. The geotags aren't showing up even though I can see that you tagged your photos. Weird. Posted 3 years ago

      1. I think you mean to say the country is not assigned? Because the geotags do show for me. This happens typically for these reasons:

        1. Disputed geography. Territory where there is no political consensus on whom it belongs to. A tag in such a place will not return a country. Source of this list is the United Nations.

        2. Marker is outside land mass (this case). Here the tag is outside the land borders (and usually also the territorial waters, but sometimes not) which means that technically speaking, it's not inside the country.

Both cases are controlled by Google Maps, and basically correct. Even if you think it's incorrect, we don't control this on the JD side.

        1. Makes sense, thanks. I see the tags on the map, but yet the photos come up as unmapped. Posted 3 years ago
          1. where do you see this Christine?? Now I am curious! :-D Posted 3 years ago

That overview shows photos that have no country set. We typically use it to see who we need to remind about setting the location on their photos.

Your photo is also in there, but it's a false positive, because of the reasons explained. So no action needed.

              1. Marta, what Ferdy said ^.

I notice it with other photos, like many from Oriand Yael, because of the disputed territory. I didn't realize what Ferdy had mentioned above about markers being outside of land borders, though.

      2. I see the geotags on my end (?)
I placed them on top of the water reefs. Let me know if I need to displace them to land territory
