    1. It's hard to believe this is actually a beetle. Apparently they mimic wasp behavior as well as their looks. One person over at BugGuide mentioned that he had caught one, but reflexively let it go, because even though his logical brain knows it's a beetle and doesn't sting, the more primitive part just won't hold onto a wasp :p Posted 3 years ago

"Necydalis laevicollis" is a species of long-horned beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It is found in North America.
