
Ex-Tallest Tropical Tree
This Menara Tree - Shorea faguetiana was previously documented as the tallest living tropical tree in the world at 96.9 meters height, until 2 more taller trees were subsequently found, with the tallest tree of the same species at 100.8 meters.

"Shorea faguetiana" is a species of plant in the family Dipterocarpaceae. Along with other species in the genus "Shorea", it is also called yellow meranti. It is native to Borneo, the Malay Peninsula, and Thailand.
