  1. Colladonus geminatus looks visually similar and does occur in your state. Posted 3 years ago
    1. It does look quite similar (how do you remember all of these...) so I would't be surprised if that is correct at very least to the genus. There appear to be a lot of species with no photos on BG though, so I probably should post it up over there to see if it might be an unrepresented one. I got a lot of photos from various angles of this one, so I should have some good images for them to ID if they can. Posted 3 years ago, modified 3 years ago
      1. Yes, definitely a good idea to post on BG, good chance of it being seen by a deep expert, which surely must be scarce for this niche.

I definitely don't remember the species, it's just a search skill with visual matching, trying to narrow down options :)

        1. Hmmm BugGuide hasn't ID'd it to species yet, but has placed it in Macropsini - different subfamily and tribe. Time to go dig... Posted 3 years ago
          1. Thanks for the update, quite possible to have multiple tribes/genuses with similar visual characteristics. Tricky! Posted 3 years ago

M. fuscula is a greyish-yellow species in which the inner margin of the clavus is characteristically pale. In females, the majority of the forewing veins are pale apically but dark near the base; in males they are uniformly dark. The extent of the dark markings on the face, scutellum and pronotum is very variable.
