Happy to capture the species but disappointed with the experience. This is my "distance shot" which I always take before getting closer. With the 2:1 macro on, I was planning to capture the extraordinary details and colors of this fly but I spooked it and that was the end of it.

This species is originally from North America, now invasive in Europe. It was first spotted in the Netherlands in 2015.

"Rhagoletis completa" is a species of tephritid or fruit flies in the genus "Rhagoletis" of the family Tephritidae.
