        1. In your defense, I think it's rare. Wolf spiders mostly use silk for eggs and to line their burrows, I think. But, there are some who make webs. Weird, but apparently true.

          *Oh, and I have no clue if the above spider is a wolf or not.

            In the photo I see a top row of 4 eyes larger than the bottom row. The closest match seems option 4: orbweaver.

            So it may in fact be an orbweaber. Still far from sure though.

Venatrix pseudospeciosa is a wolf spider of the family Lycosidae found in Australia.

For members of this family the body size varies from relatively small to quite large and is about three times as long as it is wide. The legs are moderately long and robust. The surface colours are mostly browns and greys with some distinctive surface markings. One pair of eyes is unusually large. Lycosids live in burrows in the ground but frequently leave their burrows to stalk ground-dwelling insects... more
