    1. Yes, and it was moving these tails it had in the hindwing, maybe to distract predators on where the head or body of the animal actually is. Hairstreaks are really cute! Posted 3 years ago

The red-banded hairstreak is a butterfly native to the southeastern United States. It feeds on fallen leaves of sumac species and other trees. Its size ranges from 0.9–1.25 inches. It lives near coastal areas.
