The Scaeva selenitica

''Scaeva selenitica'' is a European species of hoverfly. It is a large distinctive fly with three pairs of yellow comma markings on the abdomen, these are white on ''Scaeva pyrastri''. Adults are common visitors to flowers. The larvae feed on aphids.
