  1. I spent an hour trying to spot this little fluffball from a canopy tower to no avail, but eventually came back down to ground level and found where it was singing from! Not the best angle for photos, but since I'd never seen that species before (my owl #22 for Peru), I'm not complaining! Posted 3 years ago

The Amazonian pygmy owl, also known as Hardy’s pygmy owl, is an owl found in northern South America and the Amazon Basin. A member of the Strigidae family, it is a true owl.
