
Epiphytic Brown Algae (Myrionema strangulans) Growing on Sea Lettuc (Ulva Lactuca)
The brown spots are Myrionema strangulans, which is an epiphytic brown algae, which grows on Ulva sp. Infestations decrease growth rates in wild populations and reduce the market value of commercially grown Ulva.
