Laver - Pyropia leucosticta Soft, nearly transparent, ribless algae. Species ID is difficult to distinguish, but I think this is probably Pyropia leucosticta because it was small (~12 cm), had a tiny stipe, and was growing as an epiphyte on another seaweed. Other similar species are larger and thicker.<br />

    1. Thanks, it was an awesome spot! But, it was in full sun and really hard to discern things through the water and with the waves. Next time, I want to be there for a spring tide (happens twice a month when the moon, sun, and earth are aligned in syzygy) because those give the lowest tides, thus exposing the most stuff!
