A Head-on View… I think!

This caterpillar was not moving too quickly giving me a chance to use the in-camera focus stacking.

  Thanks William. The blue on the right side… is a blue tray were we put treats for our friends, the crows. The caterpillar was there all day and was carefully avoided by the crows as they “picked up” their treats. Fun to watch. Posted 3 years ago

The Silver-spotted tiger moth

"Lophocampa argentata", the silver-spotted tiger moth, is a species of moth in the family Erebidae. It was described by Packard in 1864. It is found from British Columbia to southern California, and east to Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and possibly to northern Mexico.
