  1. Hmm. It could be Silis or Podabrus sp. It also resembles Cantharis sp.. Plus, there are other visually similar genera, such as Cultellunguis. Soooo, I have no clue. Did you post it on BG? Posted 3 years ago
    1. Podabrus is probably a good starting place - I know that the genus is present in this area. I did put it on BugGuide. We'll see if they can come up with anything. I have other more diagnostic, if not as artistic views for them... Posted 3 years ago

        1. Nothing yet from BugGuide, but my book appears to indicate Cantharis sp. - the pronotum conceals part of the head (it's more visible in other photos). There are several species that appear to me to be similarly colored and all 22 recorded species don't yet appear on BugGuide, so I don't think I can get more specific without some help...
