Lanternbug - Pyrops maquilinganus This was a very lucky find by my local friend, who were doing night walk for the first time at a Hill behind their house.
Lucky because the first one we found a day before was not on its host tree, and it was among some foliage not typical of a place where you would found them. Unfortunately, it was on a slope and we couldn't get a good angle to take the side shots to show the 'snout' which is the key feature of Lanterbugs.

I went back to the trail on my own the following night, couldn't find it among the same foliage but found 3 of them on the tree trunk down from the slope we found the first one and this tree is the host tree of this beautiful critter.

Went back again to check on them a week later and true enough on the same very tree, there were still 3 of them :D
