When was out searching for raptors this morning I came across this little fella on the compost heap, I had never seen one here before so very happy!

The pin-tailed whydah is a small songbird. It is a resident breeding bird in most of Africa south of the Sahara Desert. It has also been introduced to southern California and Puerto Rico.
