Great Argus - Argusianus argus During our trip, we mentioned to our Guide that it would be nice to see this bird as we were aware that there were regular sighting of them at the Park we were at. During the hike, our Guide heard this Great Argus calling, and it was very loud but still far away. He instantly asked us to follow him quickly, and he was running! We ran for around 300-400 meters, and he then suddenly stopped. Just about 30 meters in front of us, on the side of the trail was this male Great Argus! We had less than a minute to take pics before it went off trail. <br />

The great argus is a species of pheasant from Southeast Asia. It is not to be confused with the two species of closely related crested argus, genus ''Rheinardia''.
