Tiny black widow that you can find in Madagascar (body is aout 1-2cm). This one was just behind my car in Ranomafana forest. If you see one with this red patern, do not touch you'll may have some problem !

  1. How about Latrodectus obscurior rather than L. mactans for the species ID? Posted 3 years ago
    1. that's a good question, thing is that I don't really find info on L. obscurior phenotype on the web. what I am sure from now is that this spider is a Lactrodectus. I will do some research and come back later Posted 3 years ago
    2. After several research, it should be Lactrodectus menavodi (menavodi means "red back" in malagasy). This genus is native from Madagascar. Posted one year ago
