A garden escape,growing along a riverbank in suburbia.
Widely naturalised in southern and eastern Australia (i.e. in the coastal districts of Queensland, in some parts of central and northern New South Wales, in south-eastern South Australia, and in the coastal districts of south-western, north-western and southern Western Australia).
Also naturalised on Lord Howe Island and sparingly naturalised in Victoria.

"Solidago altissima", the Canada goldenrod or late goldenrod, is a North American species of goldenrod widespread across much of Canada, the United States, and northern Mexico. It is common in much of its range, and fairly tolerant of landscapes which have been disturbed by humans. It has become naturalized in many parts of the world.
