    1. Thanks! This is one of my favorite scenes to photograph. I love a good macro or portrait of a wildflower, but sometimes I simply just cannot cut out the landscape. Posted 11 years ago
      1. I recently purchased an awesome wide angle lens, but I am new to landscape photography (mostly did macro and telezoom), so I am trying to pick up some composition lessons from your photos :) Posted 11 years ago
        1. Haha, well I am glad you find them useful :) I try and keep it simple. If natural borders are present, I try and utilize them. This photo isn't the best example for this, but I do try and use natural slopes and lines to point to the main focus of the photo, in this case the elephant's head should have been a little more to the left so the sloping hills would lead the eye to it. But with this type of photo, I don't think that is always necessary. And I try to keep the rules of thirds in mind at all times, both vertically and horizontally. Posted 11 years ago

''Pedicularis groenlandica'' is a showy flowering plant in the broomrape family which is known by the common names elephant's head and elephanthead lousewort. This erect plant can grow to a height of 80 centimeters. Its sharply-toothed fernlike leaves are located low on the stout stem. The stem is topped with a large inflorescence of bright pink to purple or white flowers. Each flower has a long, pointed beak which curves upward, superficially resembling the trunk of an elephant, and the lateral.. more
