  1. They are definitely not to be trifled with. I got stung 17 times by yellowjacket wasps last autumn. They were fierce. Posted 3 years ago
    1. All at the same time - sounds dangerous? Posted 3 years ago
      1. Unfortunately, yes. I had barely wandered into the woods at my mom's house when they attacked me. I didn't see them coming, but assume that I must have been near their nest. They got stuck in my hair, my clothes, etc. I ended up needing a hefty dose of benadryl, followed by a long nap. I haven't gone back in those woods since, lol. Posted 3 years ago
        1. Yes, I had a similar experience when I was a teenager. A friend and I were knocking dead branches off trees in the woods when we hit one that apparently had a wasp nest in/on it. The wasps attacked (understandably) and although we tried to run, they collected on our ankles for some reason and we both got multiple stings. I didn't count them, but as you no doubt know, unlike bees, they can sting multiple times - it was very painful and traumatic. Posted 3 years ago
          1. Sounds horrible. Multiple stings from individual wasps is how I got so many stings too. Posted 3 years ago, modified 3 years ago
