Green Rumped Parrotlet (Forpus passerinus)
A Green Rumped Parrotlet I photographed some weeks ago on our mango tree. While it isn't necessarily a rare or exotic bird, it happens to be one of my favourite birds due to their small size and the fact that they love posing for the camera. On another note, I haven't been as active on here as I want to but that's only because I'm currently doing a degree and the workload is a bit heavy. Also, I only now realised that it's been a year since I joined JD, what an experience it has been! It has helped me so much over the past year from showing me the amazing wildlife of the world to teaching me so much about biodiversity. I really do think the best online community is here on JD, and I'm greatly inspired by all of you:) Oh and I noticed that metadata doesn't show up when I post anymore so I'll resolve that soon.

The green-rumped parrotlet is a small Neotropical parrot. It is one of seven species in the genus ''Forpus'' and is found in Northeastern South America.

Best of luck with the degree. Don't worry about taking a pause, we're not going anywhere. Posted 3 years ago
