Crotalus scutulatus I wish I will the opportunity to find an other specimen like this and get from it a better shot ! Back in July 2015, I had a really short road trip in Nevada and Arizona, one of my goal was to watch a rattlesnake in the wild ! I found one Crotalus pyrrhus under a rock and this young Crotalus scutulatus just after the sunset in the Mojave Desert, what a great memory ! 1. I think the shot is great, but I know you to be a perfectionist. Intimidating snake, but glad you found it. Posted 3 years ago
    1. Thanks Ferdy ! Haha yes more and more, especially since I'm using a diffuser for the lightning I know how different the results are after ! But as you said it is an intimidating snake and I was alone during the night in the desert, not the perfect situation to take a huge risk just for getting a close well lighted shot ! And back then I wasn't so confident with venomous snakes, I was already impressed enough and full of adrenaline from finding it ! Posted 3 years ago, modified 3 years ago
      1. I think there's a name for the effect where when looking through a viewfinder, you forget about real world dangers. As if you're in a video game. I forgot the name of this phenomenon. Posted 3 years ago

''Crotalus scutulatus'' is a highly venomous pit viper species found in the deserts of the southwestern United States and central Mexico. It is perhaps best known for its potent neurotoxic-hemotoxic venom, which is considered the world's most potent rattlesnake venom. Two subspecies are recognized, including the nominate subspecies described here.
