    I checked and it looks like they are not synonyms, so the species intro is all yours :)

    It looks like the other one, Papaver bracteatum, should not have common name "Oriental poppy", instead it is "Bracteate Oriental Poppy". Or, Iranian poppy, Persian poppy, or Great scarlet poppy.
