  1. Amazing!

    It may have been another species, but recently saw a documentary about a giant water lily and was surprised about its aggression. The ridges had small hooks (claws) that as the plant unfolded would cut through any competing plant, destroying it. Also the water lily would strategically move to starve light from competing light below the surface.

    1. It does not surprise me as many of these water plants are invasive and competing for space with others. An example is also this one:

"Victoria amazonica" is a species of flowering plant, the largest of the Nymphaeaceae family of water lilies.
