Tiny yellow fingers Found these tiny yellow fingers in the same vicinity where I discovered the red poison coral fungus (podostroma). I&#039;m not sure if these are the same podostroma in yellow or are they yellow stagshorn fungus (Calocera viscosa).<br />
This is an enlarged photo image. In reality they are still tiny growth on a deadwood. But it had been pointed to me that it is most likely jelly fungus. Dacryopinax spathularia,Fan-Shaped Jelly Fungus,Geotagged,Malaysia Click/tap to enlarge Country intro

  1. Alfred, as discussed before, please do a location check before identifying. This species does not occur in Malaysia, nor does it really look like a staghorn (which has pointy branches).

Maybe you don't know how to do a location check, so let me show you how:
    https://www.gbif.org/species/9134585

GBIF contains distribution data of almost all species. For the species ID you used, note how almost all reports are from Northern America and Europe, almost none in Asia, and none at all in Malaysia. That means the ID is almost surely incorrect. You can do this check yourself for any species using the above site.

Here's another tip. Commonly occurring fungi in Malaysia:
    https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=7155&taxon_id=47170&view=species

At the very top is likely the species on your photo:

    Hope this helps.

    1. Hi Ferdy,
Again thank you so much for sharing those link. I don't have those links and it is definitely helpful in my future ID process.

      1. Welcome!

Did you remove the species ID I added yesterday? If so, any reason?
        Posted 3 years ago
        1. I don't think I did. But if I did, I might have accidentally done it. My apology. Posted 3 years ago
          1. No problem, just double checking. Cheers! Posted 3 years ago

"Dacryopinax spathularia" is an edible jelly fungus. It is orange in color. In Chinese culture, it is called "guìhuā'ěr". It is sometimes included in a vegetarian dish called Buddha's delight.
