Lesser black-backed gull - Larus fuscus graellsii Today on the lake of Botunets near Sofia - Larus fuscus graellsii - the leftmost bird. Not very often observation of this species in Bulgaria and a new species for me. First experiments with Digiscoping. Distant shot. The photo was taken with an Olympus EM-1 MarkIII, the body directly attached to the Kowa TSN-883 eyepiece attachment, x35. It's a great game, with lots of pictures for the trash, but it's worth it. Well, the photo is not for an exhibition, but it seems pretty good for documenting the observation. 1. It works so well that I would not have known it's a digiscope pic if you had not explained it :) Posted 3 years ago
    1. The photos are not so sharp, and the rate of good ones is quite smaller than with a photo camera, but this is very useful when you can't get close to the subject at a convenient shooting distance. At the moment I am on a trial and error basis because there is almost no information online on what settings to use. But I'm in no hurry. Step by Step! Posted 3 years ago

The Lesser Black-backed Gull is a large gull that breeds on the Atlantic coasts of Europe. It is migratory, wintering from the British Isles south to West Africa. It is a regular winter visitor to the east coast of North America, probably from the breeding population in Iceland.
