Ghilianella puncticauda, Sani Lodge, Ecuador Extremely thin and oddly-shaped. I was considering that it's perhaps an assassin bug mimicking a stick insect, but I don't think that theory holds much ground.
Update: my theory was not far off, it turns out to be a "thread-legged bug", which is a distinct subfamily of assassin bugs that very much look like stick insects. 1. I got a nice update on this one. By accident I discovered that it really is an assassin bug, not a stick insect. The Ghilianella genus has a number of these crazy so-called "thread-legged bugs". Posted 3 years ago
      1. Wow! well, this species seems to have come up with a similar mimicry strategy as the stick insects. I am not surprised, convergent evolution at play :-) Posted 3 years ago
