Common Toads (Bufo bufo)
Unlike frogs, Toads spend most of their year on dry land, leading solitary lives.
That is until, for just a few days a year they gather on mass, following a hugely dangerous migration to the pond of their birth, where they indulge in a mating frenzy before going their separate ways once again.
I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

The European toad is an amphibian widespread throughout Europe, with the exception of Iceland, Ireland and some Mediterranean islands. Its easterly range extends to Irkutsk in Siberia and its southerly range includes parts of northwestern Africa in the northern mountains of Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.
