The mantled howler, or golden-mantled howling monkey, is a species of howler monkey, a type of New World monkey, from Central and South America. It is one of the monkey species most often seen and heard in the wild in Central America. It takes its "mantled" name from the long guard hairs on its sides.

Thanks for sharing your first photos. Great story on this one. I can relate as I visited Costa Rica in 2007. Looks like you have quite a beautiful lens. Funny story about the monkeys getting "high" or "drunk". Here's another nature's drug addict:

Final remark: You did a great job on sharing this properly, by including a proper description, tags, geotags, and exif info. You could make the title a bit more friendly and also try to identify the species. This last bit, identifying the species, is very important on this site, it gives photos a lot of meaning and educational value. It is also needed for one of the prizes in the contest. You can identify species with the "identify species" button right next to the photo. If you don't know the species, sometimes others can do it for you, like I did in this case.
I hope this helps, and enjoy the site, good to have you on board!
