Bali Starling or Bali Myna
For a few years, I had the privilege to manage the Begawan Foundation breeding and release program of the Bali starling in Bali island. These 2 birds featured here are among the starlings we bred and released in the Green School. It was such a thrill to see them take to the air and enjoy the much-deserved freedom.

The Bali myna is a medium-sized, stocky myna, almost wholly white with a long, drooping crest, and black tips on the wings and tail. The bird has blue bare skin around the eyes, greyish legs and a yellow bill. Both sexes are similar. It is critically endangered and in 2018, fewer than 100 adults were assumed to exist in the wild.
