    1. Yes indeed and I have been checking on this particular population for sometime now, very difficult to find/see them during day time even when I know they are there as there was one day, saw total of 7 of them at night! Posted 3 years ago

      Indeed the males have regular wings allowing them to fly quite well, which is why they are more likely to be seen as they are also attracted to lights when photographers set-up light traps. Females have wings too, but not able to fly.

The Gray's leaf insect is a leaf insect of the family Phylliidae native to tropical Asia as well as Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles. Leaf insects have extremely flattened, irregularly shaped bodies, wings, and legs. They are usually about 5–10 cm long.
